QOTSA's most ridiculously titled song "Where The Goth Girls At?" has been released as a single for their new album "Pefecth," and I'm happy to say, this one is good.
Unlike the first two singles, Goth Girls has some more grit to it. The guitars are noisy, the drums are punchy, and Homme isn't trying to croon. It's definitely the best of the 3 singles so far, but still something seems off.
The sonics of this song feel very similar to In Times New Roman, almost like it was cut during those same recording sessions. The song formula is kind of back & forth, without giving you a ton of pay off from the build.
Could this just be a leftover from the In Times New Roman era? Is this entire album going to be leftovers? There is certainly evidence to think so, and this track doesn't really help put that to rest.
What did you think of this new QOTSA song? Let me know in the comments. Close description
