Tokyo Live 💖⛩️ HUGE Japanese Festival Held Once Every 4 Years! 25 Mikoshi Parade! 🏮
Description: Today I'm streaming outdoors from Japan! 🇯🇵✨
Today we're heading to a very special traditional Japanese festival—the Kameido Tenjin Grand Festival! ⛩️🏮
And this year is particularly special because this major celebration is held only once every four years!
A total of 25 mikoshi from neighborhoods around the area will take part, filling the streets around Kameido with a huge traditional Japanese festival procession.
We'll start our adventure in Ueno and walk through Tokyo towards Akihabara.
From there, we'll take the train over to Kinshicho and then walk towards Kameido Tenjin, following the festival procession along the way! 🚶♀️🏮
I'm hoping to watch the mikoshi make their way into the shrine—one of the biggest moments of today's festival! ⛩️✨
Afterwards, we'll explore Kameido Tenjin and the surrounding festival area, enjoy the atmosphere, and of course try some local and festival food! 🍡
Later, we'll spend some time exploring Kameido itself before finishing today's adventure.
There was also a strong earthquake early this morning that woke me up! 😳
The earthquake affected a large part of the Tokyo area and has caused disruptions to some train services this morning, so today's journey might be a little more unpredictable than usual.
But hopefully everything goes smoothly and we can enjoy this very special festival together!
So come experience the sounds, crowds, mikoshi, food, and atmosphere of a traditional Tokyo festival that only comes around once every four years as I bring you...
A little piece of Japan every day! 🇯🇵✨ Close description
